Competition rules

A summary of the main rules. Full rules are issued to registered clubs.

Teams and entry

  • A team is one pair.

  • Each club enters exactly two pairs in each category it enters, or none.

  • Pairs qualify through the club qualifier as winners and runners-up.

Players

  • Players represent one club for the season; the club is locked once they register for its qualifier.

  • Players must have played at the club before.

  • Up to two: one Men’s or Women’s competition and the Mixed Cup.

  • Each team may register one reserve player who meets the same eligibility.

Cup, Shield and Plate

  • Placement uses the ratings already used by clubs for 2027.

  • You can choose to play up into a higher competition; moving down needs RGB Sport’s approval.

  • Placements may be reviewed.

Match format

  • Group stages use one set.

  • Knockout matches are best of two sets, with a Championship Match Tiebreak at one set all.

  • Matches are played under the official rules of padel.

Fair play

  • Respect opponents, officials, club staff and spectators.

  • Entering below your true standard is not allowed and may lead to a move between the Cup, Shield and Plate, removal or other sanctions.

Complaints and appeals

  • Complaints must be made in writing to info@rgbsport.com within 7 days.

  • Appeals must be made within 14 days of a decision.

RGB Sport may update these rules. The full rules issued to registered clubs take priority.
